So the Tiguan will be replaced with a new version in the next 1-2 years. That being said, Volkswagen needs something special to send off the unexpected near-lux juggernaut. And I have just the idea. VW has never offered the Tiguan in America with a diesel engine, and this would be the perfect time.

However, this is no time to keep it sane. What the Tiguan needs is an R model and TDI, all in one. The idea? Let's drop the 3.0 Diesel V6 from the Touareg under the hood, hooked up to a high strength manual or the 8DSG out of the Touareg. 4Motion is mandatory of course, and the ride select controls from the Mk7 GTI.

I want this to happen. Keep it under 45k and it could be a monster success for VW, and on a larger scale Diesel, in America. Come on VW. I believe in you.

I like it. I wonder about the handling, though, with such a motor up front...

You're the man :D

And if they set it far enough back in the bay, it might work better.
